America would be defined as a nation of individualistic opportunity, in which people and businesses make their own specific choices that they believe will benefit themselves, and not the government making that choice for them. Through this individualistic freedom, America has boomed with ideas and innovations, which would show the large diversity around us today, and all the businesses and stores around us. This individualist freedom is what I believe defines America apart from other countries.
ReplyDeleteAmerica is defined by concepts like individual freedom, but also by national unity and a sense of place. We value our human rights, but we also take pride in our system of government, and trust it to work for us. Americans are defined by their ingenuity and bravery, but also for their kindness and acceptance.
ReplyDeleteThe United States of America is defined by the liberties of the citizens to obtain the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These freedoms allow the country to function freely with government elected by the consent of the governed. These liberties that define our nation, allow it to prosper and persist through difficult times.
ReplyDeleteThe general concept that defines America is its goal to provide freedom with the promise of prosperity and success for all. It is also unique in the fact that it is the story of progress and that its "definition" widens and expands over time.
ReplyDeleteI think the definition of America is freedom. People in this country are allowed to peruse any career, life style, activities, and more. Americans are also free to think and say what they want, unlike several countries in the world.
ReplyDeleteI think that America represents freedom. Whenever anyone thinks about America, they always think about the freedom that people have that live in America.
ReplyDeleteI believe that freedom truly defines America. Our democracy allows people to make their own choices and live the way they want. This is why, I believe, most people migrate here.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the one thing that truly defines America is freedom. The American Idea is based on freedom and trust of the individual person to know and act how they want with in keeping mutual respect for one another. Americans today have freedom to do, think, watch and listen to whatever they want and they have the choice of who they are governed by, it all comes down to trust and freedom.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I believe that the one of the most common phrases from the Declaration of Independence defines America as a whole - "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, America is defined by liberty and mutual respect. According to John Updike, our democratic government has lasted for so long and has worked so well because of respect between government and the common people. This respect can only exist, however, with liberty of American individuals.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, in America, the government trust the citizens to choose and vote for president or the leaders of the government. And citizens believe what governments decide or do, even in a tough time. And otherwise, people has freedom here.
ReplyDeleteI think that freedom defines America. It is what the founding fathers fought for and something every country has fought throughout history. Freedom is what will keep America together in the future, as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat defines America is the strength, ingenuity, and freedom our citizens have. It is these citizens that enable us to have some of the best, biggest, most prosperous companies in the world. This combined with the fact that we are the only major superpower left on the planet is what defines America.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, a defining characteristic that defines America is its economic and personal freedom. This can be supported by how many people migrate to the United States every year for opportunities, trying to find a better life in general. In comparison to other countries, the United states shows the most freedom economically and personally, deeming it a characteristic that defines it.
ReplyDeleteAmerica is a land of opportunities. You have the freedom to practice your religion without governmental persecution. Its geography and people are very diverse.
ReplyDeleteWhen America was first established as a new nation, the new citizens strove to create an equal democratic republic that served to protect its citizens from an overpowering government. I don't believe that our founding fathers could predict that America's promise to ensure equality would bring millions of immigrants all over the world to form such a diverse nation. What makes America so dramatically different and special from other countries is this diversity. The only problem is that Americans generally haven't realized how educational and incredibly beneficial diversity can be for our nation.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more American than the opportunity for one to define himself to the world. Not only is he protected by his leaders when he speaks his mind, but unlike in a Marxist state, there is nothing to stop him from prospering by whatever means necessary. However, he himself is the one responsible for making his dream a reality, hence "the PURSUIT of happiness."
ReplyDeleteAmerica is defined by the individual. Every one of us defines America with our everyday actions. Every individual should be responsible for their own actions because they reflect on us all.
ReplyDeleteAmerica is defined by the people who live and work here. Because Americans have so much freedom, they are the ones who make decisions regarding important events that happen in America. American people influence all aspects of american life such as the economy, polotics, and social life.
ReplyDeleteAmerica's offer of freedom has been the core of our nation since its inception. What makes many people outside of America envious is that our freedoms continue to evolve. Sure we enjoy political justice, freedom to choose our spouse, religion, career, marriage and political party, but we can also innovate, dream, work hard, fail, get back up, try again and often reap great rewards.
